The Austin Healey Owners Club of SA Inc had its inaugural meeting in May 1970, being formed by a small group of young Austin Healey enthusiasts and has grown to a present membership of 80.
In the early days of the Club, members were keen motor sport competitors and often competed at events interstate.
Today, the Club is a very active social group with a comprehensive array of events to cater for members' needs. These events include Sunday and midweek drives for lunch, participating in display days, car related events and the occasional weekends away.
All mainland states in Australia have an Austin Healey Club. Each year a National Rally is hosted by one of these Clubs. Over 100 Big Healeys from around Australia attend these Rallies. In recent times, Healey enthusiasts from overseas have also attended.
The Austin Healey Owners Club of SA meets on the first Tuesday of the month from January to November with a Christmas function held in December. Meetings alternate between the Sporting Car Club rooms at 51 King William Road, UNLEY, commencing at 7:30pm and a dinner meeting at a Hotel or Restaurant.
The main objective of the Club is "the encouragement of interest and preservation of Austin Healey cars".
